I feel better this morning since corresponding with Roxanne and Joshua.
Seeing him, and just those few words made me feel more conneted. Even more than when he calls. I love hearing his voice. I am usually at work. All the customers are understanding when they found out it is a call from my son, in Iraq.
I don't always know what to say. I know there are things he cannot tell us. If I ask something he says "I can't tell you that." I understand. His dad is retired military.
I also felt pride seeing him in uniform over there. Both our sons enlisted during war time, not when it was peaceful. Enlisting during peace does not always mean that it will stay that way.
The military has an unwritten code "to protect and defend those who cannot." He is doing that.
He is making history. Iraq is becoming a democratic country. Other countries are saying if they can do it, we can.
I know there are many who do not like President Bush. In war, I am glad he is there. I strongly believe that if this country had done something with the 1st Trade Center Bombing, the USS Cole......There would not have been a 911.
No one likes war. No one wants to retaliate. But at some point you will become a sitting duck by not doing anything.
I didn't mean for this to turn into a political writing.

You may not realize it, but it's 100% true.
*PLEASE READ THIS WHOLE POST IT'S SO DAMN TRUE*
